Authors Laurie Bohlke and Trudi Temple, with photographer
Gail Perkins, have created more than just a story of one woman’s extraordinary life. Trudi’s Garden is the collaborative effort of
three talented women who show us how to live life in full bloom.
Trudi Temple is the founder of Market Day, the original fundraising corporation that provides a minimum of ten percent of all sales to participating schools, churches and other non-profit organizations. Since 1975, Market Day has raised more than 330 million dollars for education. Trudi is also an extraordinary gardener who transformed an ordinary one-acre yard into a show garden that attracts hundreds of visitors each year. Visitors travel from out of state, from art and horticultural classes and from Chicago Botanic Garden and Morton Arboretum bus tours to study and enjoy Trudi’s garden. Tours of her garden are highly prized at charity auctions.
Laurie Bohlke is the editor and publisher of the award-winning book, Prayers through the Seasons, an Inspirational Collection
of Christian Prayers and Nature Photography. She is also one author of the group novel, Don’t Die, Mr. Opal. Oklahoma Needs You. She and her husband, Bill, live in St. Charles, Illinois and Jupiter, Florida.
Gail Perkins is an experienced nature photographer whose work appeared in American Vision (Amphoto Books, 1999). Her portfolio of stunning images from North and South America has graced corporate calendars for the past six years. She lives with
her husband, Richard, in Indian Head Park, Illinois.
